How Rick Rubin Almost Destroyed Eminem's Career
Across the storied pages of hip-hop history’s books, chemistry between two individuals has yielded no shortage of greatness. From Eric B and Rakim and DJ Premier and Guru through to Hov and Kanye or even 21 Savage and Metro Boomin today, finding the right groove between a producer and a rapper is akin to striking gold and, as plenty of people have learned over the years, can’t be forced. Likewise, if you’ve found that degree of synergy with one artist or beatmaking wizard behind the boards, there is no guaranteeing that you can repeat the feat.
One pairing that learned this the hard way and had to weather a whole host of criticism that besmirched their respective legacies is Eminem and Rick Rubin.

The Unnecessary Fall of Anthony Fantano
Переглядів 67 тис.Місяць тому
Over the course of his career, Anthony Fantano, better known as TheNeedleDrop, has always been a controversial figure in the world of hip-hop. Told his existence was a "Light One" by Drake and taken to task by Wale for saying that a rapper of Naija heritage had hopped on the Caribbean craze, there are times when hip-hop has delighted in his negative reviews of artists and other times they’ve be...
The Many Contradictions of Kendrick Lamar
Переглядів 67 тис.Місяць тому
Kendrick Lamar has put the rap world on notice. And no, you haven’t time-traveled back to 2013 when he announced his intent to murder everyone on Control, Nor have you went back to 2017 when he declared that he wasn't 1,2,3,4,5, but the greatest rapper alive”. Now, nobody is denying that Kendrick doing this didn’t make hip-hop more exciting. But, the problem is that at 37 years old, it contradi...

The Addiction That Destroyed Kanye West's Life

We all have bad habits, but most of us can control them, while for others, they end up warping their brains, affecting personal relationships, and occasionally, skewing their thought process to the point of no return. Lil Baby Is Lost And Confused
Переглядів 326 тис.4 місяці тому
Generally speaking, they say that what goes up, must eventually come down. But in the case of Lil Baby who once looked to be in pole position to replace Drake, it seems like things are spiraling out of orbit at an alarming rate. For a window of around three years, the rapper lesser known as Dominique Jones had more momentum and combined goodwill than any other artist in the field. Commended by ...
Why Being a Hip Hop Producer Sucks
Переглядів 258 тис.5 місяців тому
At the heart of hip-hop culture is its poetic soul. Used first as a medium to incite the dancefloor before evolving into a means of conveying the harsh realities of life all the way through to gritty street reporting, there is a reason why “rapping” has been one of the four elements since its inception. But where graffiti and breakdancing have fallen by the wayside, the other key component that...

Rappers are notoriously tough to interview. Come off too much like the police and there’s every chance that they’ll shut down and refuse to participate in the interview. On the other hand, If a rapper says or does the wrong thing during an interview - i.e Drake infamously freestyling off his blackberry in 2009 - there’s every chance that this will be etched into their legacy forever. I didn't watch this video strictly because of the title. How the hell are you going to say Andre 3000 sabotaged his career. Andre 3000 had a full career and he still producing his own sounds. He just didn't do what you wanted him to do. He's wildly popular and wildly respected. And at 45 plus years old he's moved on from rap, it's a young person sport

I can say that Kendrick wanted to take his ego out of the way but the expectations of the masses made it difficult form him, the public put him on a pedestal so high that it made him puke and his own insecurities, lies and traumas just put him in a mental spiral, so thats why Mr.Moral was dropped everything there, is addressed and he can finally be the artist he always wanted to be.

They have an option to open the Net, and to do some reserch, hell, even paying someone- the problem is. that they don't want to, or already know that they are doing this only for clout, and to get likes on gram, because its the part of thier economy

To some, this culture is their life. To others, it's merely a hobby. Something fun to do and leave whenever they no longer want to deal with its hardships.
